Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston concerning how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with care, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger instruction for the state's authorities. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. In the years following her stay living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative reporter. Then she was hired by Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. The present role of O'Dell as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News.
