Schlapp is able to remain focused and on task and work alongside White House teams in political issues, legislative affairs, and policy as well the larger communications team. So far, her focus has been on matters such as the safety of schools, opioids, infrastructure, and trade. As of now she doesn't deal extensively with journalists. But, back in March, she was mentioned to be a possible candidate who would take over Hope Hicks at the Communications Director position. The fighting has been nasty. Allies to Schlapp and Tony Sayegh, another contender for the job started fighting in the media. Following The Washington Examiner published a negative story about Sayegh, Schlapp claimed she phoned Sayegh to show a relationship with her.
